Koti to benefit from MBIE-funded project

Koti Technologies is part of a University of Canterbury project that has just been awarded funding by MBIE.

The project, Race to the Finish: Processing and Properties Optimisation of self-cleaning, antimicrobial ceramic coatings for buttons, knobs, handles and rails in hospitals , came from the Advanced Energy and Material Systems Lab (AEMSLab) – a multidisciplinary research group led by UC’s Department of Mechanical Engineering . The successful project is led by Dr Catherine Bishop and Professor Susan Krumdieck in Mechanical Engineering, but also includes a wider group including Chemical and Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Chemistry researchers.

The work will assist Koti in getting its antimicrobial coatings into the market and protecting hospital workers and visitors from hospital-acquired infections.
