A new company launched by the University of Otago plans to commercialise the work of the university’s Christchurch Heart Institute. The company, in which Powerhouse is an early investor, has developed a world-first test to potentially speed up the diagnosis of unstable angina. This is a serious cardiac condition which is difficult and time-consuming for doctors, and is a major area of need in clinical diagnostics. The research has the potential to have a significant impact on hospitals around the world and has enormous commercial prospects.
